Space for "Glamping" is available in the outer walled gardens, where you can also place a marquee if you wish.

Shillingstone House is the family home of Sir Michael and Lady Caroline Salt.  This beautiful Dorset Country House is set in thirty acres of stunning countryside and gardens. Set in a secluded world of its own, it makes the perfect place to hold an unique and exclusive celebration.

With only six weddings held each year so yours will be a truly individual event. We offer you a blank canvas to create the wedding of your dreams over the 4 days that you are here.

The House which dates back to 1879 has been lived in since the war by the Salt family. Designed by a Scottish Architect it provides a wonderful backdrop for photographs and the house and gardens are spectacular when floodlit at night.

The gazebo in the garden is licenced for civil ceremonies. Here you can seat several hundred on the lawn and the gazebo can be incorporated into a marquee if you wish. The gazebo is planted with roses and clematis, and is set in beautiful gardens with uninterrupted views of the countryside beyond.

The inner walled garden provides a secluded hideaway for a wedding night bell tent - fully furnished as shown here or with “Indian” hangings.

You can party in the marquee until midnight and as long as you wish - but quietly - round the fire pit in the camping grounds.
